What I Do 

Re-styling a single room around a cherished family heirloom, working to a strict budget or a specific colour palette, designing an entire home or business premises from scratch - these are just some of the challenges that, as an interior designer, I absolutely love.

From the calm and neutral interior required by a dental practice, to the practical home-from-home requirements of holiday lets, and the hard-wearing relaxed elegance required by a leading chain of French-style restaurants, each commercial project I undertake is a unique proposition. And each requires an in-depth understanding of the business and its clientele.

I choose complementary colours, fabrics and accessories to show their superb bespoke kitchens to best effect. In fact, many of their delighted clients have since asked me to enhance their own kitchens in similar fashion.

My aim is to help tell a story to engage potential buyers in the most effective way. Whether against the backdrop of my own period home and show barn or on location, each product is approached with thoughtfulness and care in order to reveal their full potential to their target audience.

Product styling on location can require a high degree of advance preparation and planning and varies from selecting a few carefully chosen soft furnishings and accessories to an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach depending upon the demands and appeal of the product. Lateral thinking and improvisation are often called upon to make the shoot a success, together with an intuitive sense of what will work and what won’t.

Within my showbarn I have a comprehensive portfolio of swatches and design books from my favourite fabric designers. With a wide range of weaves and prints in a multitude of colours, patterns and textures to suit a vintage or contemporary interior.
